Argentinian literature histories have found a problem when approaching the texts produced in the colonial period . The 16th-17th and 18th centuries have been considered by Argentine critics in various ways, either as an embryo of later national history or totally scorned by the supposed inferior political and cultural development
in comparison with the rest of the colonial metropolis. Within the range of interpretations, we find a fruitful space of images and representations about the colonial letters that allow us to understand the present misrepresentations of culture in the colonial period.
